SPECIFICATION GUIDE
LED Light Box Specification Guide
A useful light box specification connects visual intent to cabinet construction, service access and site conditions. Use this checklist to reduce assumptions before quotation and drawing approval.
PROJECT-SPECIFIC REVIEW
Specification Framework
Values are confirmed from the approved drawing and order scope. RUIGONG does not substitute generic specifications for project requirements.
| Geometry | Overall width, height, depth and visible graphic area |
|---|---|
| Face system | Rigid, routed, flexible or changeable graphic construction |
| Cabinet material | Specified metal, finish and visible seam requirement |
| Lighting target | Color, uniformity, dimming or control requirement |
| Access | Front, side, rear, hinged or removable service method |
| Installation | Wall, projecting, suspended or freestanding |
| Environment | Indoor, sheltered, exposed, coastal or wet-area conditions |
| Electrical | Input voltage, power location, cable exit and compliance route |
Define the Visible and Hidden Dimensions
The visible graphic area is not always the same as the overall cabinet. Face retainers, borders, mounting plates and service clearances consume space. Provide the architectural opening and maximum projection as well as the desired graphic size.
For projecting signs, show the bracket, wall interface and required clearance. For suspended signs, show attachment points and the intended orientation.
Select the Face System
Rigid acrylic is common for compact cabinets. Flexible faces suit some larger formats. Routed metal with acrylic inserts creates a different daytime appearance and service method. Changeable graphic systems require a safe way to remove and retension the face.
Specify whether the graphic is printed, translucent film, routed, push-through or another approved system. Provide the color reference and viewing expectations.
Have drawings ready?
Send the dimensions, quantity, installation conditions and destination for a preliminary review.
State the Lighting Acceptance Method
Words such as bright and uniform are subjective unless the parties agree how the sign will be reviewed. Define viewing distance, ambient condition and whether a powered workshop photograph, video or physical sample is required.
- Confirm white color temperature or controlled color requirement.
- Identify dimming or external control responsibility.
- State whether dark graphic areas may show internal structure.
- Approve LED or driver substitutions before use.
Plan Service Access Before Mounting
A beautiful cabinet can become unserviceable if the removable face is trapped by a ceiling, wall return or adjacent panel. Show the available access direction and who will service the sign.
Power supplies should be placed where heat, inspection and replacement are considered. The drawing should distinguish factory wiring from field connections.
Describe the Environment Precisely
Outdoor does not describe every exposure. A sheltered storefront, coastal facade, snow area and wash-down interior present different water, corrosion and temperature conditions. Identify the actual environment and expected cleaning method.
The final installation and local approval remain part of the project scope. Do not use an indoor specification as a substitute for an outdoor review.
Send a Complete RFQ
Combine the dimensioned section, elevation, artwork, quantity, mounting details, electrical requirement, destination and required date. Mark unresolved items. RUIGONG can then return questions and a quotation based on visible assumptions rather than guessing.

BUYER QUESTIONS
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the standard cabinet depth?
There is no single depth suitable for every face, graphic, LED and service condition. Depth is confirmed from the complete section.
What is the best face material?
The choice depends on size, graphic method, access, replacement plan, exposure and desired daytime appearance.
Can a light box be dimmable?
It can be reviewed when compatible LEDs, drivers, controls and field responsibilities are specified.
Which drawing is most useful?
Provide an elevation plus a dimensioned section showing cabinet, face, access, mounting, cable exit and power location.
